| Well...I got the job! I can't believe it! I had just surrendered the whole job thing to the Lord yesterday morning and they called and said I was accepted. Isn't God good?! I start on Monday morning working from 9-4 the first week. Then I'll be part time, working 20-25 hours a week. It will be just what I need. I'm still in a bit of shock! I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Life is pretty status quo, all things considered. This weekend was pretty fun though. Stayed at the Seibels and had a blast with the kids! They are so cute! Molly (who is 1) calls me "Indsay". Laura, Amanda said that she really misses you and wants to see you again soon. We might have to see what we can do about that! Saturday night, my mom and I went to Drew's place and played games with the Lentz kids and went to a movie. That was also fun! Church was really good! Mr. Lentz has been preaching on the parable of the sower. He's been talking about the different kinds of soils and how those are the different conditions of our hearts. We need to examine which is our heart. There were 3 bad soils and only 1 good soil. Then he talked about walking with God and how we need to choose. He stressed the point that the truth (God) needs to become a reality in our lives. It isn't enough to just know about God. He has to be the center of our lives. I hope this makes sense. I'm not very good at writing thoughts down. It was very convicting to me and made me do some more serious soul searching. I heard a really good quote from John Newton yesterday. He said, "There are two things that I know. I am a great sinner, but Christ is a great Savior." Isn't that powerful?! Sit and muse on that for a while. It really impacted me! I love it! Have a great day! | | |
| Today is Sylvia Seibels' 7th birthday. I'm so excited! Tonight, we'll be going down and staying overnight at their house. (For those of you who don't know, the Seibel family are some great friends of ours that from back home.) It's really funny, but Sylvia is the 7th child in her family. So, we got her 7 presents that she can't open until 7:00 pm and my mom called her at 7 this morning to wish her a "Happy Birthday". The theme is "7"! I'll be calling her a little later on this morning, not at 7! Yesterday, I had a job interview at a Credit Union. This was my second interview and I have one more to go before I find out if I got the job or not. It's a part-time job with a flex schedule. I'll be working 20 to 25 hours a week. Not too bad and then I'd still have time to help out some of the widows and families in our church with little kids. I still want to be available to them. Please pray for me about this job thing. I'm leaving it in God's hands to close the doors. That's all for now. I hope this isn't too boring. Maybe something exciting will happen soon and I'll be able to write about it. But for now, this is life for me. Have a great day! | | |
| Well, here's my first posting. Yeah!! I never know quite what to write. So, I'll start out by sharing something that I read in "Streams in the Desert" yesterday. (That's a great book, if you've never read it before. I highly recommend it!) "God knows exactly when to withhold or to grant us any visible sign of encouragement. How wonderful it is when we will trust Him in either case! Yet it is better when all visible evidence that He is remembering us is withheld. He wants us to realize that His Word- His promise of remembering us- is more real and dependable than any evidence our senses may reveal. It is good when He sends the visible evidence, but we appreciate it even more after we have trusted Him without it. And those who are the most inclined to trust God without any evidence except His Word always receive the greatest amount of visible evidence of His love." " Delayed answers to prayers are not refusals. Many prayers are received and recorded, yet underneath are the words, 'My time has not yet come.' God has a fixed time and an ordained purpose, and He who controls the limits of our lives also determines the time of our deliverance." I hope this is as encouraging to you as it was to me! Have a great day! | | |
